Applause Magazine
The Arts Foundation is one of New Zealand’s leading philanthropic organisations. Instigated by patrons in 1988 who recognised the importance of giving to the arts, the Foundation now offers many financial awards and scholarships for artists at different stages in their careers.
Forming an ongoing relationship with The Arts Foundation, I worked in partnership on a variety of projects, including the foundation’s website, promotional campaigns, events, and a notable favourite; their annual magazine Applause.
The magazine is the highlight of the year for artists and supporters of the arts, and serves as a roundup of the year’s most celebrated works. The challenge each year was to keep the magazine feeling on-brand and fresh, clean and supportive of the artists’ works, while also hero-ing the foundation’s financial supporter advertising.
The result is a highly-stimulating visual editorial of New Zealand’s best, and the celebration of The Arts Foundation’s philanthropic mission to lift Aotearoa’s artists up and onto the world stage.
